Origine

AOP Vacqueyras

These old Grenache vines, planted in 1958 and trained in the traditional gobelet style, are the original vines of the estate. Located at the entrance, right next to the pond, they draw their strength from clay-limestone soils scattered with alluvial gravel.

Since 2013, they’ve marked the beginning of our journey. Origine is our very first cuvée—the one we’ve crafted from the very start. It’s a deep, honest Vacqueyras, a true reflection of our story and our terroir.

Pairing and serving

Food & wine pairing: We recommend serving it with autumn dishes—particularly game meats, classic “hunt-inspired” fare, rich meat stews, or a well-aged côte de bœuf.

Serving suggestion: this wine is best served between 18 and 20°C (68°F)

So much texture in this succulent red blend of grenache and syrah. Sweet cherries, ripe raspberries and some sweet baking spices on the nose. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Attractive and generous. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Brilliant stuff, the 2023 Vacqueyras Origine offers a Rayas-like perfume of sweet red fruits, sappy flowers, rose, and minty herbs. Based on 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah and aged in concrete tanks, it’s medium to full-bodied and has a round, supple, layered mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It’s a “wow” Vacqueyras that should be snatched up by savvy readers! Drink 2026-2035.
